Benny Benack III — “Third Time’s The Charm” [2023]

Establishing his place among the most compelling entertainers the world over, Emmy-nominated Benny Benack IlI builds on the signature style of his previous releases with the new LP, Third Time’s The Charm.

The trumpeter-vocalist-composer draws on his fluency in a diverse set of genres to full effect, crafting a studio album with a live show feel.

"This record is the maturation, the culmination of my journey to this point," shares Benack, "and of everything I've been developing artistically, across my playing, singing, and writing. It perfects the formula I've crafted on my previous two albums."

Boasting a robust fourteen tracks, Benack features an all-star cast of musicians including pianist Emmet Cohen, bassist Russell Hall and Kyle Poole with special guests Peter Bernstein, Bria Skönberg, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Michael Stephenson and Ruben Fox.

Benack further exemplifies his showmanship by crafting the record in the same manner he would for live audiences.

“It has that New York kind of energy, being in the room at midnight at Smalls, or if you went to see me at Dizzy's. If you're seeing a live show, you love that zig zag and energy thrust of different styles. That's how you put on a dynamic show. I wanted the album to reflect that."
